Joseph Helps Pharaoh (Ages 3-6)

Story time:

Genesis 41 (read together in your bible) 

This story tells about Joseph helping Pharaoh with his dreams. Pharaoh is another name for the King of Egypt. He had a crazy dream and when he was trying to find someone to help him find out what it meant, the servant who Joseph helped in prison remembered Joseph and told Pharaoh that he could help! Pharaoh got Joseph out of prison and Joseph helped Pharaoh learn what his dream meant. Not only did Joseph help him interpret his dream, but he helped Pharaoh come up with a plan to save Egypt! Pharaoh was so pleased with Joseph that he set him free from prison and put him in charge of his land!  

Lesson: 

Throughout these stories Joseph has been trusting God and always staying positive and helping people. Joseph knew that God had a plan for him! God has plans for all of us and sometimes it’s hard to wait and see but if we trust him and have faith we will see God’s plan.  

Things to think about: 

Do you have any talents? Can you use those talents to help people? God gives us all different gifts and talents and that is what makes each and every one of us special.  

Craft/Activity: 

If you read the story in the bible with your family, you will learn about Pharaoh’s dreams. He dreamed about cows!! He dreamed of 7 fat cows and 7 skinny cows. The attached craft has 14 cows you can cut out and glue to a dream cloud. After you cut them out and glue them on the clouds, pretend you are Pharaoh dreaming and act out the story of Joseph!
