The Stone Children's Center Board of Directors is pleased to announce that they have appointed long-time employees Laura Potter (Director) and Jennifer Jensen (Assistant Director) to fill the leadership vacancies at the Center. Their years of dedication and service to Stone Children's Center give them a unique insight and they have both "hit the ground running" as they take on their new roles.
DIRECTOR LAURA POTTER
Laura has been with Stone Children's Center for six years, working as a float and then Preschool Teacher in the preschool Beluga classroom for the last five years. She attended Edinboro University where she received her B.A. in Psychology/Sociology with a concentration in children and their behavior. She has been involved with children in many aspects since 2006 in the classroom.
She is currently continuing her education by taking classes that involve teaching children with Dyslexia how to read, along with starting classes in October to gain director credits. She is married to her husband of 18 years and they have two teenage sons and a basset hound.
ASSISTANT DIRECTOR JENNIFER JENSEN
Jennifer has worked at Stone UMC Children’s Center for 11 years. She has been a teacher in every classroom, but for the last two years, she has been the lead teacher in the Penguin classroom. In April of 2024, she took the role of Administrative Assistant, and as of July 1st, 2024, she stepped into the role of Assistant Director.
She has been married to her husband for three wonderful years, and together they have a beautiful daughter named Brooklyn and the sweetest dog named Sadie.
