Safe Sanctuaries
Our Safe Sanctuaries requirements are mandated for all staff and all volunteers
that will interact with children, youth and/or vulnerable adults at
Stone United Methodist Church.

Safe Sanctuary Training  Dates for 2020


The dates are listed for the year. If you need first-time training or you are up for renewal please plan to attend one of these sessions. At least two attendees per session are required for the session to occur.  Training is open to all Stone UMC congregants and is required for all staff and volunteers who work with children. Sign up in advance in the church office or contact Tyson Johnston.

2020 Safe Sanctuaries Training Dates


Please sign up in the church office for one of the sessions.  At least two attendees per session are required to sign up in advance for the session to occur.

Training is open to all Stone UMC congregants and is required for all staff and volunteers.

Required Clearances for Staff and Volunteers 

1. Act 33 – Child Abuse History Clearance

2. Act 34 – PA State Police Report of Criminal History

3. FBI Record Check* Registration

     Contact Safe Sanctuaries Coordinator for required codes

     Fingerprinting locations

*For volunteers who have lived in PA for less than 10 years

Stone UMC Safe Sanctuaries Requirements At a Glance

Staff and Volunteers must:

·         Have clearances before starting work; must be renewed every five (5) years

·         Read and sign SUMC Safe Sanctuaries Covenant

·         Complete then-current SUMC Safe Sanctuaries training at least every other year

·        Complete then-current mandatory state-provided child-abuse related training at least every five (5) years (staff only)
